General banking hours in most areas are from 0800 to 1500 Mondays to Fridays. Shopping hours are generally from 0900 to 1800, Mondays to Sundays. Costa Rican customs are generally in the traditional frame of things, with a handshake and politeness being the basis of any good relationship, and suits are to be expected of formal meetings, prohibitive humidity or not.
